The goal of this class is to find the delight and playfulness of watercolor. We will cover the basics of watercolor from color charts, to painting a still life, and composing a landscape painting. Most of the class will be spent on practicing watercolor technique within the context of the elements of art. The intent is to inspire you to take your paints to the mountains or on your next trip and create a venue for you to be able to soak in the beauty of nature.
Please have these supplies at the beginning of class:

PLEIN AIR MINI SESSION
Come paint in Garden of the Gods for three Thursday evenings. Learn the Basics of plein air paintings and start your journey of a lifelong pursuit of spending time in nature and making poetry with your paints.
Time 7:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.
Thursdays: Sept. 17, 24 & Oct. 1
Location: Garden of the Gods.
Prerequisite:
A basic understanding of watercolor. Having taken an intro class.
Paints, brushes & paper.
A drawing board or something of similar utility.
A foldable stool or chair .
Ability to hike a mile or half mile as needed.
2.0 Intermediate Watercolor

Time 7:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.
5 Weeks - Location: Surface Gallery
If you enjoy the Intro to Watercolor class, this is a great next step. A more in depth look at the elements of art. Taking the concepts you have been introduced to and putting them into practice from a variety of angles. This class uses the same supplies as the intro class so no need for more supplies.
