Renovations: First things First.
The hardwood floors.
It only took 8 trips to Home Depot in one day to get this project done! They even gave us free stuff. The struggle might be real but the people along the way also are!
We did hardwood look alike, that is waterproof and snaps into place. We cut and sealed the floor with a metal part that is normally used to carpet. Although the nasty shag carpet that was in it brought a lot of nostalgia, we liked the easy clean of the hardwood.
Tips: 1. Measure twice, cut once.
When you think it won’t fit, push harder.
Just go for it. My number one rule when working on things is, if it won’t exploded then do it.
Dutch tip: Use the small square hardwood samples as coasters.

The curtains.
The owls were nice. Everyone loves a fabric pattern that has 100+ eyes looking at you. Those were replaced. It was a tough choice but someone had to do it. We choose a canvas fabric from Hobby Lobby and then added a little fringe for some character.
